Energy quick facts
- Generated from Florinol inside a Florinol Battery
- Stored in power stores like batteries and Power Bricks
- Moved with the Energy Siphon and Energy Connector
- Generated continuously by the Steam Turbine
Energy shows up in the later tiers as a second currency for machinery and tools. It starts when Florinol meets a Florinol Battery, and it spreads through siphons, connectors, turbines, and powered buildings.
Energy is not mined; it is produced. The first and most important step is turning Florinol into usable power.
Florinol is the first resource in the game that generates Energy. Putting it into a Florinol Battery produces power that machinery and tools can use.
When you spend that Energy, the Florinol in the battery solidifies into Florinol Soil. Each unit of power costs a unit of fuel, so supply matters.
Making Energy is only half the job. You also need to store it and move it to where the machines wait.
A tool that transfers Energy between power stores. Use it to move charge from one battery to another without rewiring a whole line.
Passes Energy between power structures. This is the connection piece that lets a network of stores and machines share one power source.
The Power Brick stores large amounts of Energy and can be recharged automatically with input from a generator, making it the big reservoir of the system.
The steam side of the factory can feed the power side, replacing manual battery-loading with a running generator.
Unlocks the Steam Turbine for automated power generation. It turns the Steam your factory already makes into a steady energy supply rather than a one-time fuel burn.
The Steam Turbine links the heat and water systems to the Energy system. See the Steam page for how hot material is produced, then feed it here for power.
A power store is only useful if there are machines worth feeding. In the late game several buildings and tools demand Energy directly.
The Drill breaks through hard materials and requires Energy. This is the sign that the power system gates real progress rather than just convenience.
The Snowmaker converts Water into Snow using Energy. It turns the cold side of the factory into an automated branch. See the Snow page for the full cold loop.
