Sandustry Steam Dryer: The Sandwich Machine for Dry Amethelis

The Steam Dryer has exactly one job: pressing Amethelis into Dry Amethelis. Its recipe is a vertical sandwich — Amethelis on top, steam piped beneath — and it burns a small amount of that steam with every petal it processes.

Steam Dryer quick facts

  • Amethelis touching the top plus Steam touching the bottom makes Dry Amethelis
  • Each conversion consumes a little of the steam
  • Seals against liquids, gases, and players — it can act as a wall
  • Cannot dry Wet Sand or Wet Seeds, no matter what the name suggests

Run a Dryer Row, Step by Step

Because the inputs arrive from opposite sides, the Steam Dryer rewards vertical thinking more than any other early processing building. Each step ends with a checkpoint so you know the sandwich is working before you scale it.

Step 1

Run steam under the Dryer row

The Dryer is a vertical sandwich: steam must press against the bottom face. Route your steam line underneath so vapor reaches every machine in the row.

Checkpoint: steam visibly touches the base of each Dryer.

Step 2

Drop Amethelis onto the top

Amethelis arrives on the top face. Both contacts have to happen at the machine itself — steam below and petals above — because neither input works alone.

Checkpoint: petals sit against the top of the Dryer.

Step 3

Let the sandwich convert

With both faces fed, the Dryer presses petals into Dry Amethelis. Each conversion eats a little of the steam, so the reaction does not run for free.

Checkpoint: Dry Amethelis comes out while steam keeps flowing beneath.

Step 4

Balance petals against steam supply

A busy row quietly drains a boiler, so size steam generation for the drying load, not just for turbines. Every Flower head carries 4 Amethelis, so feed petals to match the steam you can actually produce.

Checkpoint: neither petals nor steam backs up; the row runs steady.

Misconception

It will not dry your wet materials

Despite the name, the Steam Dryer refuses Wet Sand and Wet Seeds — it accepts only Amethelis. If you wanted to un-wet a material, this is not the machine for it, and no arrangement of steam will change that.

Cost note

Steam is consumed, not recycled

Every petal dried eats a small amount of steam. A busy Dryer row quietly drains a boiler, so size your steam generation for the drying load, not just for turbines and other headline consumers.
