Flower quick facts
- Grows when a Wet Seed sits on a Planter Box
- Built from a Vine stem and a head of 4 Amethelis plus 1 Gold
- Breaks under weapons or Fire, releasing its head contents
- Burnable, but cannot be wetted or launched
Flowers are the payoff of the Seed chain. Place a Wet Seed on a Planter Box and a Flower rises with a stem of Vine and a head containing exactly 4 Amethelis and 1 Gold. Break it — by weapon or by fire — and those five pixels drop out. Regrow, reharvest, repeat.
A Flower field is the only Sandustry production line where the machine is alive. The planning questions change too: not throughput per second, but plots per harvest.
The chain starts at the Kinetic Press: Burnt Residue dropped from height becomes Gold and a Seed, the Seed drinks water to become a Wet Seed, and only the wet version will sprout on a Planter Box.
Weapons and Fire both work, and since Flowers are burnable, a flame sweep can clear an entire field at once. Time the burn so the drops land where your collection line can reach them.
The four Amethelis petals from each head are the real prize: run them through a Steam Dryer and they become Dry Amethelis, the late-game material the top research tiers draw on.
Alongside the petals, each head releases a Gold pixel. It is a small trickle per flower, but a mature field harvests Gold without touching another block of terrain.
Hovering over a Flower head before destroying it displays only a question mark as the tooltip. The 4 Amethelis and 1 Gold are hidden until the moment the head breaks — another reason to plan your collection route before you start burning.
