Follow Residue, not Gold
If the byproduct path covers the input or output, the whole line starts looking random.
Quick diagnosis: a Gold line can stop even when Wet Sand and Shakers are correct if Residue has nowhere readable to go.
If the byproduct path covers the input or output, the whole line starts looking random.

Residue is not just waste. When it backs into the Shaker area or downstream processing, it can cover fresh Wet Sand, fill output space and make a healthy machine appear stuck.
Do not start at the Gold collection point. First confirm where Residue is supposed to leave.
If Residue moves over the Wet Sand feed, it can starve the line while input still exists nearby.
If a Kinetic Press or later machine receives byproducts, its output must also remain clear.
Byproduct routing can break a Gold line even when Wet Sand input and the Shaker itself are otherwise correct.
This guide does not claim the best permanent byproduct bus, the right downstream machine chain for every save, or a universal map-independent Residue layout. It is a diagnosis reference, not a complete factory template.
The usual reason is that byproduct has no separate side or downhill route, so it starts sharing tiles with fresh input or output.
Trace the byproduct exit first, then clear the crossing point where Residue starts covering Wet Sand input, Gold drop space, or the next machine's output.
